Assignment Two

This is inspired by my own experience. Time and time again, we see people in NUS making this mistake: to always enter the bus before those alighting alight. Such a scenario is not uncommon. The reason for such a problem may not just be people being kiasu. I choose to believe that it's because people forget. As such, my sign hopes to play a part in helping people remember. This sign will be pasted at the sides of the doors of the bus where passengers boarding the bus will see before boarding. By reminding passengers, this will avoid unnecessary inconvenience and the banging-into-one-another awkwardness. Below is my chosen piece. It is simple and straightforward, very self-explanatory.

Assignment Two (Rejected)

This is my initial idea of a sign, a peace sign. NUS students have tonnes of projects to do. What is that we are afraid of when it comes to project? It really is not the work, it's the people we're working with. Arguments and disagreements seemed to be inevitable in project meetings. Hence, by placing this sign in places where people often hold project meetings, it'll remind them to have 'peace'... :) Ideal places: Meeting Rooms in library, on wooden benches all around campus.

However, it was raised up that this hand sign could represent other stuff like a pose for the camera, or even the victory sign. Hence, since it's pretty hard to salvage the vague-ness problem of this piece, I decided to scrap this idea and come up with another one. :)
